Former Rams coach Mike Martz to do analyst work for NFL Network
Mike Martz may be out of coaching this year, but he’s still involved with the National Football League. Martz has been hired by the NFL Network as an analyst this season.
Martz, the orchestrator of the Greatest Show on Turf as offensive coordinator and then head coach of the St. Louis Rams, will be part of the network’s NFL Total Access Show. He will also team with former head coaches Jim Mora and Steve Mariucci on a new show, the NFL Head Coaches. That coaches show will air on Mondays at 5:30 p.m. St. Louis time once the regular season starts, with the first show airing Sept. 14.
Martz was 56-36 in 5 1/3 seasons as Rams head coach, including two division titles, four playoff berths and one Super Bowl berth. The Rams are 17-42 since his last game on the sidelines for St. Louis in 2005. He has since had stints as offensive coordinator with the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers.

Shouldn’t the show be called “ex-NFL Head Coaches”?
Will they be able to find a lens wide enough to fit Mike’s whole head in the frame?
FTA - “Martz was 56-36 in 5 1/3 seasons as Rams head coach, including two division titles, four playoff berths and one Super Bowl berth.”
At the time, I thought it was crazy to run Martz out of town, but now, in retrospect, it is easy to see why we would want to get rid of a coach that had only four playoff berths in just over five years. Who can support that kind of success?
whenever a technical difficulty occurs, Martz will say “aw, shoot, we’ll fix that!” that was his standard line in press conferences after each game.
How quickly some forget.
Glad to see Coach Martz with another gig. Doesn’t get enough credit for what he did here in St. Louis.
“Yeah but, yeah but, yeah but…”
it’s funny the Warner fans will come in here as an invtite to bash Martz…
but what’s really funny is they will throw Warner’s stats around as proof that warner is in fact the most holy qb ever, but if a martz backer was to say this:
Martz was 56-36 in 5 1/3 seasons as Rams head coach, including two division titles, four playoff berths and one Super Bowl berth. The Rams are 17-42 since his last game on the sidelines for St. Louis in 2005. He has since had stints as offensive coordinator with the Detroit Lions and San Francisco 49ers.
it would quickly be dismissed as misleading because of the abundance of talent he had…
Mike Martz:
Offense Head Coach - Excellent
Head Coach
Thank you Coach Martz for the most exciting football I’ve seen in this town!
