Rams at Lindenwood: False start, Barron
The more things change. . . .Seven plays into the Rams scrimmage at Lindenwood University, left tackle Alex Barron was flagged for a false start. On an evening full of cheering and warm applause for the Rams, Barron’s penalty drew plenty of razzing from the crowd.
Other observations:
* During the live 11-on-11 period, the second-team offense led by Kyle Boller, mounted the evening’s best drive _ 56 yards. (It would have put the unit in field-goal range.) But the biggest play of the drive, a 20-yard pass to Tim Carter, would’ve never gotten there. Chris Long, steaming around left end, would haveĀ at least hit Boller or even sacked him. But hitting the quarterbacks was not permitted.
*During the live portion of play, quarterback Marc Bulger was almost intercepted by safety Craig Dahl. And then, during a situational drill when the Rams were pinned near their goal line, cornerback Quincy Bulter intercepted a deep out from Bulger intended for Laurent Robinson.
*Middle linebacker Chris Draft, working with the second unit, was all over the place on run defense.
*First-round draft pick Jason Smith is still having trouble blocking Leonard Little on the pass rush. But working with the starting offense, Smith made a nice block on what would’ve been a touchdown by Steven Jackson. (The play occurred during a “thud” period, where contact was allowed but no contact.)
*Defensive tackle Adam Carriker watched the last half of the scrimmage on the sidelines with his left ankle iced.

great job barron
They should always make the snap count on 1 or 2. The big fella can’t count to 3.
he should be a better left tackle than right so hopefully he feels more comfortable and hopefully he doesnt think he needs to get the best jump every time. Give him time he’ll be good
Bold prediction: Barron will be a backup by week 12

look at 2007. he allowed only 3 and 1/2 sacks. hes not gana be a back up, hes gana give us false starts but hes gana protect bulger, hopefully
3 and 1/2 sacks in 2007. Yeah but they only had the ball four times.
grades for scrimmage
Bulger (C)- Accuracy still a problem. Two interceptions one by a rookie db that read Bulger’s eyes and got a huge jump on the ball..
Boller (A)- Boller is very accurate. strong arm . great scramber. He shows intensity and enthisiasm as he leads the team…. Until Bulger gets more accurate.. Boller should move to number 1 spot
Berlin…(C plus) good backup nothing spectacular I think he is fourth string.
Null (B plus) I wondered who is this guy when they drafted him. well, he is an accurate passer with a laser pass. He has mobility, accuracy and should be on the team no question. He could be a starter by year 3 easily. I hope the Rams keep him on the active roster….
Bajema (B) very good TE great hands needs to be on the team behind McMichael.
Offensive line (D-) The line is going to get our Qb’s sacked and the RB’s will have no holes. Jumping offsides is still a problem. And the right side leaves a clear path to the QB.
My brain hurts.
when will we finally see the last of bulger in a rams uniform???? can,t be soon enough
Hey ramsfan…thanks for the scouting report, so insightful…wow…bajema needs to be on the team? bwahahaha…i guess that’s why they signed him huh? oh…and boller should be first string until bulger gets more accuracy? wow! dude stay home next time…please?
