For the second time in three days, the St. Louis Rams’ afternoon practice session was devoted to special teams only. Once again, about 60 of the 80 players on the training camp roster participated. Keenan Burton has been added to the group of players competing for the punt return job; he was joined Tuesday on returns by Derek Stanley, Ronald Curry, and rookie free agent Cord Parks.

As they gear down for Friday’s exhibition opener in the Meadowlands against the New York Jets, the Rams will hold their first morning practice without full pads Wednesday. They’ll practice in helmets and shoulders pads, beginning at 8:15 a.m., then go in shells (light padding) Wednesday afternoon at 2:45 p.m.

Those will be the last full-scale practices before departing for New Jersey early Thursday afternoon.

_ In The House: Coaches or scouts from Washington University (St. Louis), Springfield (Ill.) High School, and the Calgary Stampeders (CFL) attended Tuesday’s practices.

_ Ram-blings: FB Mike Karney (ankle) once again took part in team drills Monday morning, so there’s a chance he could play against the Jets. . . .QB Marc Bulger said only two more practices in camp will include installation periods, after which the entire base offense will be in. . . .Coach Steve Spagnuolo praised running back Kenneth Darby for his attitude, his work ethic, and his workload so far in camp.

But what I want to tell you is we have the NORTHERN CALIFORNIA RAMS FAN CLUB going on 15 years of existance this year all of our club is just EXCITED about the game FRIDAY!!!GO RAMS.From what we have read I think were into an evoulution of a Foot ball team that was soft to a 53 hungry predators ,
win or lose will make the opposing eam glad the game is over and will walk away with a lot more respect anf fear of this growing team!! I emphasize
(WIN OR LOSE)Where they are now we will wait and see. Im sure they are pretty far away from what I described ,but I also think they are goin in the right Direction!!!GO RAMS!!If any of you folks get to San Jose this season meet us on game day at the BLUE CHIP Sports bar and restraunt on 1st street SAN JOSE

Don’t worry Tye, I was watching Adam Carriker.
I think with hard work and a lot of luck that guy could be good enough for our practice squad in a couple of years. Maybe.

In great anticipation for Fridays game I realized the Rams have some very good pieces in place and some unkown talent Im excited to see perform. To me there is one glaring need, and fans post it all the time, a true number 2 RB to spell Jackson. More like a 1a. If they get that missing piece. Im just sayin!
