Defensive tackle Adam Carriker of the St. Louis Rams says he is scheduled for surgery Wednesday to repair a torn muscle in his right shoulder. Carriker said he has a 75 percent tear in the subscapularis muscle in the shoulder. The supscapularis is the deepest muscle of the rotator cuff.

The surgery will be performed in Houston by Dr. David Litner. Carriker said the expected recovery time is about four months. Carriker suffered the injury in the third quarter of Thursday’s preseason finale against Kansas City and was placed on the injured reserve list Saturday by the Rams.

Get well Adam. I hope you turn your career around and show why you were a high draft pick for the RAMS

Hopefully he returns healthy 100% next year. I think the coaching staff should make him lose weight. Cut down to 275 lbs and make him a Rush End from now on. It’s obvious the DT experiment has failed.

I have an idea Rams…….stop drafting guys from NEBRASKA!
Carriker, Phillips, Crouch, Groce, Incognito, Wistrom, Wiegert……….ENOUGH already!!!!

I think Wistrom had a really good career and I still think Incognito will end up with a successful career. Hope Carriker comes back strong next year…go Rams!

I would love to see a slim down version of Carricker play DE next season. I think it will help cut down on injuries for the kid. Get well soon. ( PS Greg Lewis fomer WR with the Eagles is available after being cut by the Patriots. Off Cord Schurmur had him in Philly.)

On a personal level I wish Carriker well and hope he’s able to continue his career. But from a fan level its a ‘who cares’. He’s not contributing this season. And I don’t see him ever factoring into the Rams future. Spags has probably seen enough of Carriker by now to know that he’s not ever going to fit into his system. He’s just ‘another’ example of the poor choices that were made during the ‘06 draft by the previous regime. The Rams should see to it that he heals from his surgery and ship him off to another team for another 5th or 7th round pick next year. As a matter of fact, I predict that he’s gone prior to the 2010 draft judging from the stuff Spags has said in the past regarding his performance. Too much salary cap being wasted on this ‘project’ to see it through.

Another wasted #1. George Boone is alive and well, and apparently helped the Rams with the draft in 2006 and 2007
