Additional testing Monday showed that St. Louis Rams quarterback Marc Bulger has no serious damage to the rotator cuff in his throwing shoulder, just some muscle injury.

“It’s a bruised rotator cuff,” coach Steve Spagnuolo said Monday afternoon. “We’re not sure on (Bulger’s availability) this week. We’ll see where he is tomorrow and Wednesday, and if he’ll do anything at all. But that’s what it is. It’s not torn; it’s a bruised rotator cuff.”

Obviously, the news could have been much worse. A torn rotator cuff could have ended Bulger’s season. But it remains uncertain whether Bulger will be able to play next Sunday, when the 0-3 Rams travel to San Francisco, or even the following week, when the Rams play host to Minnesota.

Bulger suffered the shoulder injury on a sack-fumble in the first quarter of Sunday’s 36-17 loss to Green Bay. He returned on the Rams’ next offensive series, but aggravated the injury diving on a loose football following a Steven Jackson fumble, and was done for the day.

If sucking was good Marc Bulger would be the best.

Would never wish injury on anyone. It would have been better for Bulger and the Rams if this were a season ending injury, however.

Good. Now management will be able to evaluate him over the whole season and when it is all said and done we will be drafting a new QB with the top pick. Bradford or McCoy?

This is very good news. Kyle Boller had a nice couple of drives, but he still stinks very badly. The Packers made an adjustment at half and Kyle Boller then played like Kyle Boller, i.e. - horrible.

All of the people clamoring for him to start have obviously never watched a game outside of St. Louis. For over half a decade, Kyle Boller had the top defense in the league, and a 2000-yard rusher, and he won 0 (let me repeat that) ZERO playoff games, and only got his team there once (ONCE). The other time he was benched for Steve McNair, at the bottom of his career.

It’s incredible there are people ignorant enough out there that actually think he is good.

Bulger is on the downside of his career, but he is by far the best we have.

Wow mailman, lets see. Mark Bulger has generated one TD in 8 quarters and Boller generated 17 points in 3 quarters. And if McMichael does his job and catches a pass, we may have taken the lead over the Packers. I’m not a Bulger hater but results are results. The offense just looked better with Boller out there. At least he can exscape the pass rush when our overrated and overpaid O-line doesn’t hold blocks. Niether guy is going to be the QB next year most likely but Boller gives us the best chance to break the losing streak.

Good Bulger is the best qb the Rams have. Give a decent line and receivers and he will be fine. Boller is a career backup and 1st round bust. If he was any good the Ravens would have never gotten rid of him.

Instead of all the Bulger supporters contantly saying he is a good quarerback it is our O-Line and Recievers that stink….. I want you all mailman, rams1328 to tell me what accomplishments Bulger has had in the last 2+ seasons….. (ie QB rating 34th with only 32 teams…. etc… ) prove to me we need to keep Bulger at starting QB….

He’s still toast. Right now I wouldn’t be surprised if the Rams IRed him for a hangnail on his broken pinkie.

Let somebody else try! Bulger isn’t getting it done - what, are you worried that we’re gonna lose AGAIN?
