SEATTLE _ For openers, the Rams have opted for white jerseys and white pants in today’s season opener against the Seahawks at Qwest Field. Coach Steve Spagnuolo indicated early in the preseason that he was going to settle on a couple of uniform combinations for the team. We’ll see. . . .

_ In The Box: After opening the preseason on the sidelines, defensive coordinator Ken Flajole says he’ll work in the coach’s box (at press box level) this season.

“I just think I can see more (upstairs),” Flajole said. “I’ve trained my eyes for the last six years (in Carolina) from a press box level, and that’s probably my comfort zone right now. So I’m going to continue to do that.”

Offensive cooordinator Pat Shurmur will work on the sidelines.

_ Familiar Face: Travis Fisher, a second-round pick by the Rams in 2002, is a backup cornerback for Seattle. Fisher started 53 games for the Rams from ‘02 through ‘06, then spent the next two seasons with Detroit. He was signed by Seattle Aug. 2.

_ Draft Central: The Rams strongly considered taking Wake Forest linebacker Aaron Curry at No. 2 overall, opting instead for Baylor offensive tackle Jason Smith. Curry went to Seattle two picks later. As one of the Seahawks’s starting outside linebackers, Curry should run into Smith on a few plays today.

_ For Openers: The Rams are 8-6 on opening day since the move to St. Louis, but haven’t won an opener since 2006, defeating Denver 18-10 in Scott Linehan’s debut as head coach. They’ve won only twice on the road on opening day: 17-14 at Green Bay in the inaugural game as the “St. Louis” Rams; and 20-17 in overtime in Philadelphia in 2001.

An opening-day victory usually bodes for success for St. Louis. The Rams have had six seasons of .500 or better football in St. Louis, and were 5-1 on opening day in those seasons.

I don’t care about the uniforms, as long as no one ever sees me again.

P.S. I agree with you. Sincerely, Mizzou’s black pants.

Don’t like those all white unis.If the Rams control that noisy crowd, it will be an advantage.
