William Kershaw (left), of the Chiefs takes down Ryan Fitzpatrick during the second quarter of the Missouri Governor's Cup preseason game in 2007.

* In 1998, at the start of coach Dick Vermeil’s second season in St. Louis, the Rams won 10-6 at Arrowhead Stadium to conclude the 1998 exhibition campaign. As Vermeil waited for the post-game trophy presentation on the field, he asked: “Where’s the other governor?”

Vermeil was politely informed that he was in Kansas City, Missouri. Not Kansas City, Kansas.

* In 2001, the Rams won at home 21-17 over the Chiefs to conclude the ‘01 exhibition season. The game marked an unofficial homecoming for Vermeil, who by then had moved across the state to coach the Chiefs. The occasion was marked by a cover story on Vermeil on the Rams’ Game Day magazine _ the program sold to spectators attending that game in St. Louis.

Afterwards, a disgruntled Mike Martz _ Vermeil’s successor as Rams head coach _ told reporters: “Maybe some day I can get my picture on the program.”

* Still in 2001. See Martz reaming QB Joe Germaine on the sidelines. Hear Martz all but cutting Germaine on the spot during an in-game television interview. A couple days later, Germaine was traded to. . . .Kansas City.

Thats all! After all these years, only 3 great moments from only 2 games? What about the games that were played during the season?
