Updated: St. Louis Rams trade CB Tye Hill to Atlanta
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
On the day when the Rams cut their second-round pick in the 2006 draft, tight end Joe Klopfenstein, the team also has traded its first-rounder from ‘06 _ cornerback Tye Hill.
Hill a disappointment in his injury-plagued tenure with St. Louis has been traded to the Atlanta Falcons. In exchange, the Rams get a seventh-round pick from the Falcons in the 2010 draft, the Post-Dispatch confirmed Tuesday afternoon. With Hill’s departure, Jonathan Wade moves into the starting role at right cornerback, with Justin King as the nickel back.

I didn’t expect him to start….but to be traded….WELL THAT’S EVEN BETTER!!
Tells you a lot about the last regime’s ability to evaluate talent.
If not for Victor Adeyanju, and Mark Setterstrom, that could have been the worst draft in St. louis history, what a wasted draft year that ‘06 was.
I’m impressed with this coaching staff and front office. Player performance should dictate who plays and makes the team. If you can’t get it done, oh well.
Surprised they were able to get anything for him this late in the pre-season. Who does Atlanta cut to aquire Hill?
This is good for Tye, get the cancer that is the rams franchise removed from your body, gets a chance to play for a contender and this will be his last chance to show that he belongs in the league
good for the rams to get these two guys outta here, another reason why our new gm is making the right moves, and it gives us some confidence that ownership has the guts to remove young guys that do not live up to the hype
Wow. I’m Surprised. Previously, all they did was release players (Pace, Holt, Bennett, and now Klop). Hope they at least got a third. Excellent draft coming up next spring.
I guess that means Bartell, Wade, King, Q. Butler, and Fletcher make the team.
Now fortunately or not Carriker needs to go… Good person, but this league is about ‘results’.
I don’t care what they got, this is a great deal. Ideally it will be a pick, but it doesn’t matter. This guy wasn’t going to do anything except get the wrath of fans and get burned for TD after TD. If they got a late round pick for him, GREAT DEAL RAMS!!! That is called addition by subtraction, they accomplished it by dumping Drew Bennett and now they were able to deal Tye Hill. It may not happen overnight, but the new regime will bring the Rams back to what we want them to be!
great front office move, get rid of the young talent that hasnt worked out for ya, it makes a lot of sense, i just hope this management team has learned from the past ram drafts and put more of an emphasis on scouting and player development
