Veteran DT Hollis Thomas is latest Ram to go
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
The roster-churning continues unabated in St. Louis. Veteran defensive tackle Hollis Thomas became the latest Ram to go. The St. Louis native, who played his high school football at Sumner, had his contract terminated by the club on Tuesday.
Thomas, 35, appeared in all three games as a reserve, recording four tackles.
The Rams had three free-agent defensive linemen in for workouts Tuesday: DT Marlon Favorite, who was in the Carolina Panthers’ camp this summer; former Minnesota Vikings DE Martail Burnett; and DT Khalif Mitchell, who began this season on San Francisco’s practice squad. Favorite was signed to the Rams’ practice squad on Tuesday.

Wow. No one is safe on this team and that’s a good thing. Wait until next year when some big names aren’t here any longer. Rams FO is serious about cleaning house. Something has to change around here ’cause it’s not happening in the “W” column that’s for sure.
Go Rams!
even though every week becomes a guessing game as to who will be let go next, at least the rams are doing something.
Vinny25-
Do we have any big names left?
I like Khalif Mitchell - was a very good player at East Carolina. This rookie can play some ball in the NFL if given a chance.
Marlon Favorite was excellent at LSU also. I’m surprised they cut Thomas…there are SO few veterans on this team. Maybe Thomas was not in shape…they were saying earlier he’d have to “play” himself into shape.
I hope we see Ruvell Martin at WR this week. He’s big and physical…we’ll need that against the 49ers.
It would take a whole year for Thomas to get in shape and we definitely can’t afford to wait that long.
What’s the Vegas odds of the Rams blowing through 100 players this year? This is ridiculous.
whatever!!
mea culpa..i meant, “WHOMEVER”!!
The Rams aren’t looking for a diamond in a diamond mine… They are looking for it on the turd pile… You certainly have to turn a few more turds over to find a diamond that way…. (I don’t know if that makes sense, it is early.)
I hope they keep it up… The only way to see if a guy who nobody else thinks can play… Is let them play and see the results…
