Vobora’s suspension was for tainted supplement
Marc Lillibridge, one of the agents for suspended St. Louis Rams linebacker David Vobora, said his four-game NFL suspension was for use of a tainted supplement.
“He is suspended under the NFL Anabolic Steroid policy but in no way has David ever used an illegal substance,” Lillibridge said. “He took a (workout) supplement that was tainted. A highly respected toxicologist has proven this to be the case. David did everything by the book in regards to investigating this supplement before he began using this product.”
Lillibridge said Vobora called the NFL supplement hot line, read the ingredients over the phone, and was told none of those products would produce a positive test.
But since the workout supplement wasn’t NFL approved, any resulting positive test made Vobora still subject to suspension.
Lillibridge subsequently sent samples of the two supplements Vobora used to an independent toxicologist _ one of them came back clean; the other tainted.
“We have fought the test results vehemently, but the NFL rules state that a player is ultimately responsible for what they ingest,” Lillibridge said. “So by the letter of the law, David will miss the next four games.”
Lillibridge said he was in the process of filing a lawsuit against the company that manufactures the product.

When he called the NFL Supplement Hot Line, did he use the Bat Phone? Holy Streoids, BATMAN. With the Rams you can’t make this stuff up. Next we’ll learn that Bulger is filing a lawsuit against the Rams for hazardous working conditions(Alex Barron will also be named in the lawsuit)
You all have no idea what is up!!! Are you an athlete have you been in this situation, I guess not. Sit down and quit judgung until you know the whole story.
It amazes me how these guys will risk throwing away their careers by taking non-approved supplements. I’m not suggesting that Vobora was intending to cheat by taking steroids, but the bottom line is that this is a guy who just barely got drafted and has been hanging on by a thread since he joined the team. How much could this supplement have possibly helped him compared to how much getting suspended for 4 games hurts him and the team? It’s just beyond stupid. Have a nice month off Dave. Maybe you can use the opportunity to enroll in a common sense class or something.

Julie- I am an athlete and I have done things at a very high level and personally have been offered steriods and other things that have steriods in them by guys I thought where above it. The bottom line is that I was above taking anything that was not a basic multi-vitamin. The use of ped’s is wrong, bottom line wrong. Even if he did his part in making sure it was not on the banned list then he still didn’t go far enough. You notice they are not appealing the suspension. Julie, we do know the story he tested positive for a banned substance, you need to go sit with Mark McQuire, Ryan Franklin, and every one else that has used ped’s and keep your mouth shut becuase odds are your nothing close to an athlete.
And yes if faced with improving preformance w/ use of ped’s and a big pay day or just being as good as I am w/ no pay day, I will always just be myself w/ no pay day.
If anything the Rams should sue Bulger for “impersonating a QB”

Does anyone buy this supplement hooey? Cmon, the guy took steroids and the masking agent didn’t cover it. His agent says they are going to sue the supplement maker for this. Right, when that happens, go out to Lambert because the pigs will be on the runway cleared for takeoff. Remember Bosox Ortiz, same story, “I’ll get to the bottom of this…” - what’s happened there? Same thing that will happen here. Nothing! Message to all steroid cheater athletes- when you get caught, man up, admit it, and move on. The worst you’ll get is a slap on the wrist.And the media here will kiss your a** later.
