WRs Taylor, Beavers visit Rams Park; Stanley visits Lions
Free agent wide receivers Courtney Taylor and Larry Beavers are visiting Rams Park today, as the team searches for a roster replacement for the injured Laurent Robinson.
Beavers, 5-10, 186, was a record-setting return man at NCAA Div. III Wesley College. Wesley, who ran a 4.37 at his pro day, is the NCAA Div. III record holder for career kickoff return touchdowns (10) and overall return TDs (13). As a receiver, he caught 30 passes for 598 yards and six touchdowns last season for Wesley. Beavers was signed by Carolina as an undrafted free agent this past spring, but didn’t surive the Panthers’ final roster cuts.
Taylor, 6-1, 205, was a sixth-round draft pick by Seattle in 2007 out of Auburn. He played in 18 regular-season games over two seasons, including four starts. Over that time, Taylor had 14 catches for 136 yards. He also returned one kickoff for 27 yards, and had 10 special teams tackles with the Seahawks.
Taylor, 25, left Auburn as the school’s career record-holder in receptions (153).
But it doesn’t look like wide receiver-return man Derek Stanley will be returning to St. Louis. The Rams’ punt returner for the first two games of 2009 was visiting Detroit on Tuesday.

MARVIN HARRISON.
Marvin Harrison?
Nothing better to try and keep a guy from retiring than a disabled football team with a garbage quarterback.
Oh, great. A couple no-names who have done nothing. At least Derek Stanley knows the system and can step back in now. David Tyree may be the best option, though. Marvin Harrison is going to be facing murder charges as more evidence surfaces, so don’t even go there…
ENOUGH WITH MARVIN HARRISON ALREADY!! Does he really have anything left to offer? Even if he did, why would he want to come to the worst team in the league? I really don’t understand the Marvin Harrison enfatuation. His ship has sailed.
Ok….. I was for Harrison at the beginning of the season, now it seems like he’s not coming back unless the Colts come calling (which won’t happen. Their roolie receivers…. WOW!) But I digress….. My vote is for Ronald Curry. He’s a veteran, he had a good preseason with the Rams and I think it would just be the best fit we could ask for at this point in the season. Who in the world are these 2 receivers that they’re bringing in. Enough with the inexperienced guys (how many drops has the inexperienced Donnie Avery had this year?) Either Curry or Tyree, maybe both seeing Avery cam up gimping. So the couple of moves I would make if I were the Rams would be to sign Curry and Tyree, play Boller regardless if Bulger can go or not and see what happens. We still won’t light the world on fire, but let’s at least move the ball.
Just reviewed all the other 31 teams practice squads- not much out there as far as WR’s. It was interesting to see all the recent Rams draft picks on other teams practice squads, though!
I dont understand this. I know the playbook and these guys dont. I wasnt a cancer in the locker room. I got along with people. Except Avery seemed to have something against me. I cant help it, if we had the exact same skill-set and there was a chance I was better. Someone tell me. Whats up with this?
Where is Will Franklin? He made some good plays for KC last year and is fater than Beaver and as big or bigger than Taylor. He made some really impressive plays. Why not trade Barron for Marshawn Lynch-the character stuff has gone too far. John Elway in his prime could not help this team because recievers are not open.
Ronald Curry, anyone?
Time for “Michael Crabtree”…
