Bulger throws Monday, will try again Wednesday

Rams quarterback Marc Bulger engaged in what probably was the football equivalent of soft toss Monday briefly at Rams Park.

“He was OK,” Rams coach Steve Spagnuolo, “didn’t throw it very far, but he’s trying to oil it up.”

Spagnuolo guessed that Bulger would be listed as questionable on an injury report but was encouraged by the session.

“That’s a long way away from a week ago, when he really couldn’t throw at all,” he said. “But that’s a tough call. We’ve got a whole day tomorrow. I think we’ll rest it and then see what he can do on Wedsenday.”

Spagnuolo couldn’t estimate the intensity of the workout because he didn’t attend but added that Bulger had tested his right shoulder briefly before the 35-0 loss to San Francisco. Bulger was listed as the Rams’ third quarterback Sunday.

“He did it to see if we got in the situation where we had to go to the third and he couldn’t hand off, could he dump it to the fullback. We needed to know that going in, in case we had that situation. Thank God we didn’t.”

The rest of the Rams injury report:

  • WR Danny Amendola suffered cramps in the game but should be OK.
  • DB Ron Bartel (thigh) is still listed as day to day.
  • OG Jacob Bell suffered back spasms but should be ready to practice.
  • S James Butler (knee) will be monitored day to day but would be listed as doubtful.
  • S Craig Dahl suffered a concussion and will be evaluated Tuesday.
  • DT LaJuan Ramsey tweaked an ankle but should be ready to practice Wednesday.
  • OT Jason Smith (knee) is day to day. “We should know more Wednesday,” Spagnuolo said.

We all know Chris Long is a terrible bust, but how about Jason Smith?
This first rounder can’t even get out of the trainer’s room.I should
know I see him there every single day.

I think Pat S. should be on that list for lack of brain.

I have blasted the Rams in the past for playing Buldger. In no way though have I ever thought that he hasn’t gone through a major beating over the years. My son brought up a good point a couple of weeks ago when I said I wished we still had Warner, he said that Warner would be dead now if he had been here this long. So true. Good luck Marc, I may wish for someone else, but you have paid your dues. You deserve to go somewhere else, and possibly win and we need to move on to another QB that is probably playing for a College in TX, OK, ND, or WASH.

Well, I guess that the fact that Boller was absolutely awful yesterday has officially quieted the Bulger bashing. Bulger is the only option that this team has to win a game at QB after watching Sunday. Boller is just way to inaccurate with the ball. It is a shame because with Boller’s mobility it buys him some time. He just can’t seem to throw the ball to anyone’s hands consistently.

For once is it possible to have a ball thrown more then 15 yards in the air? Maybe stretching the field a little would help. Or how about just throw the ball to Avery and sink or swim with him? He made a couple of good runs after the catch? I know that this team is bad, but the terrible play calling has to be more creative.

Looking into the future!! Next years free aagents pick up OG Max Jean Giles an OT Winston Justice both 25 let go Bell and Barron W/R Jason Avant & or Domenik Hixon RB Leon Washington backing up for Jackson. Now for this year if we go 0-7, 0-8 are something to that affect let Null get A chance to show if he can play in the big league giving us A chance to draft elsewhere because

Who ever is behind center is going to need some protection. Barron is not focused at LT and Goldberg is not agile enough for edge rushers. When healthy, go with Smith at LT and Greco at RT. Jacson is a great back but he refuses to pass block, he going to get someone killed. OC Shurmur has got to open it up and get more creative. Do something.

The Rams should change their motto from “53 playing as one.” to “53 playing dumb.”

after seeing what the vikings did to rogers tonight sacking him 8 times i’m not to sure if Bulger should be playing this week.

If Shurmur doesn’t allow Bulger to sling it downfield 20 yard or more, which is what earned Bulger a couple Pro-Bowl honors, then if I were Bulger I wouldn’t be in any hurry to get my shoulder “oiled” up. I’d take another fall for a couple weeks if I were him? What’s the worst that can happen? They call him a whiner? On THIS team, that’s an honor!!!

Passing on Cutler + Passing on Ryan + Passing on Sanchez = Prolonged Mediocrity!! Get the Rams out of the “Mid-West”…So. Cali bound*!*
