Could the Tuskers beat the Rams?

With a victory Friday over the Las Vegas Locomotives, Jim Haslett’s unbeaten Florida Tuskers (3-0) clinch a playoff berth in the fledgling United Football League.

Haslett’s team has dominated the league so far, outscoring its opponents 96-36. Some members of the Tuskers think they could pose a challenge to lower level NFL teams if they played them, including the Rams.

There are a lot of familiar faces on the Tuskers’ roster, including eight former Rams: CB Fakhir Brown, S Jerome Carter, LB Quinton Culberson, CB Ricky Manning Jr., LB Tim McGarigle, OT Rob Petitti, CB Darius Vinnett, and DT Claude Wroten.

Carter, McGarigle, and Wroten all were Rams draft picks. Brown, Carter, Culberson, Manning Jr., and Petiti all started at least one game for the Rams in recent years.

The Tuskers’ roster also includes former Super Bowl MVP Dexter Jackson at safety, former NFL defensive rookie of the year  Odell Thurman at linebacker, and Tatum Bell and Michael Pittman at running back.

I think there are UFL and NCAA team that could be competitive in the right situation. The Rams problem is red zone turnovers, lack of offensive creativity, and no pass rush.

Talk about piling on! Everyone wants to get on the Ram Bashing Bandwagon.
No, the Tuskers could not stay with the Rams nor the Bucks or the Titians. Get serious we knew this team was going to need development and regardless of their record they are in good hands. Take a breath we will get through this and be competitive again.

Wow. This is considered a Rams Report? Are going to hear about Torry Holt, Bruce, and maybe even London Fletcher? Also, isn’t this typical of Haslett talking smack about the Rams anyway? How is this news?

What a lackluster list. I haven’t seen this many hoosiers’ names in a row since I looked through a Kansas City phone book.

The Rams probably couldn’t even keep up with the Tuskers the way they’re playing.

Why is Dan O’Neill posing as Jim Thomas? He’s the only PD staffer I’m used to writing such inane nonsense.

Will there ever come a day when the NFL would let a game like this happen. Certainly they’d NEVER put the shield on the line by playing an NCAA team. Nice to dream about though…Texas vs the Rams.
