Offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur showed some creativity right off the bat. On the St. Louis Rams’ fourth play from scrimmage, Shurmur called for a flea-flicker. QB Marc Bulger handed off the RB Steve Jackson, who pitched back to Bulger.

Bulger then found WR Donnie Avery streaking down the middle for a 50-yard gain. A drop by WR Tim Carter killed the drive, but a 30-yard field goal by Josh Brown has trimmed Indy’s lead to 7-3.
