Cornerback Bradley Fletcher will join long snapper Chris Massey on theĀ  St. Louis Rams’ injured reserve list because of a knee injury suffered Sunday against Indianapolis.

Team sources told the Post-Dispatch that Fletcher will need a two-stage surgery to repair a hyper-extended knee. Fletcher, a third-round draft pick last season, had started the last three games.

Massey suffered season-ending ligament damage to his left knee against the Colts. The Rams had several long snappers in for tryouts Monday, including Belleville East High product Nathan Hodel.

Right guard Richie Incognito, meanwhile, is expected to miss at least one game with a foot injury suffered against Indianapolis.

That’s too bad. Fletcher was looking really good for a rookie corner.

I agree; Fletcher was a true bright spot on an otherwise pretty dismal day of football.

Here’s to quick healing for him.

I agree. Fletcher is was Tye Hill was supposed to be. Hopefully he’s back without any complications. Memo to coaching staff: Bartell is terrible!

What is the deal with all these injuies? Maybe it’s time to look at the field turf or whatever the surface is????

Maybe Fletcher could consult on tackling, he was lights out. Cornerbacks need some help too, Bartell is getting beat and no one seems to be able to read the offense like other teams read us. Maybe there’s hope for next year if we have Robinson and Fletcher.

Well, that really sucks! I guess on the bright side, this doesn’t really hurt our chances of making the Super Bowl this year…

We are cursed. Fletch was a bright spot and Massey makes a bad snap about once a decade. We get new Field Turf every year and I’ve heard it is slick until it gets worn down a bit. Isn’t there a way to use the same field for a few seasons, even if they have to roll it up in the off-season?

I can only agree with what’s been said. Fletcher looked better than good for a rook. He was just playing solid football. Speedy and healthy recovery to you. And yes, if it’s the damn field, change it! Go figure, the one was doing in SJ’s knees. This one could be worse. What else?
