No practice work again for Rams QB Bulger and RT Smith
If it wasn’t obvious already that neither quarterback Marc Bulger nor right tackle Jason Smith are playing Sunday for the St. Louis Rams against San Francisco, Thursday’s practice at Rams Park offered more convincing evidence.
Bulger, who has a bruised rotator cuff on his throwing arm, was limited once again to only rehab work on the side with strength coach Rock Gullickson. Smith, who has a knee injury, was limited to rehab drills with the Rams’ athletic trainers when he wasn’t working with Gullickson.
Once again, Kyle Boller took the reps with the starting offense at quarterback, with Adam Goldberg in Smith’s spot at right tackle. Bulger has yet to try to throw.
The situation was murkier with Alex Barron (thigh) at left tackle and Ron Bartell (thigh/groin) at cornerback. For the second day in a row, both players were limited in practice, although Barron seemed to get a little more work than Bartell on Thursday.
John Greco and Jacob Bell both got some work at left tackle when Barron wasn’t in there.
The team worked indoors because of Thursday’s rain.
Here is my prediction: 49ers lead 21 - 7 at the half. Null comes in in the 3rd quater. He has a passer rating over 100. Rams lose 31-28.

This week will be different. The Rams will win a shocker. It’s the turnaround game!!!!
Jacob Bell should be at RT and Goldberg at LT until Smith is healthy. If Bell does well enough- goodbye Mr. False Start, hello to Mr. Smith at LT. Who needs a LT…Buffalo? Detroit? Washington? How much are you willing to pay?
Well I’ll be at this game on Sunday and I just hope the “RAMS” show up and play . Maybe if I’m lucky I wont get anything thrown at me . This season started out with so much promise . But what can you expect from a team that cuts it’s starting LB Chris Draft just a few days before the start of the season because he wont take a pay cut . Hey ask Bulger to take a pay cut see what he says …
I will also be at the game on Sunday and are just hoping the Rams give a decent showing…don’t really expect an upset but it sure would be nice to see all those 9er fans’ face if we can pull it off! GO RAMS!!!!
Here is what I would like to see…. I would like just one of you BULGER defenders to quote with references how in the world Bulger commanded SUPERSTAR pay. All of his stats came in what me and my friends call BULGER Time.. For those of you unfamiliar with the term BULGER TIME… It at a point in the game when the other team is so far ahead they are playing 15-20 yards off the line and our SUPERSTAR QB goes 12 of 12 for 100+ yards and a TD… THIS GUY WAS COMPLETE CRAP FROM DAY ONE… He benefited from an outstanding line and talent in the WR’s to go after and catch his crap passes… BULGER is the single cause for the decline in the RAMS as a team and the death of the RAMS from a fan perspective… tell me who’s bucking up $100 to see BULGER… Meanwhile the Cards are selling out and the fans are charged up under the leadership of Kurt Warner. WBTW – makes 6 million a year less tan BULGER! — Now he is out with a bruised shoulder because he knows there is a real shot at the Team going 0-8 or worse…. What’s Bulger’s current record as a starter? W41-L55 since 02 and in years 06-09 @ W12-L34 That’s right! After this season if he returns to play it could be as bad as 41-68— I guarantee you that this will be Bulgers LAST YEAR in the NFL!
I have no idea how the Rams can beat the 49ers, because the 49ers are good, I mean really good. They beat the Vikings in their dome, If it wasnt for a miracle Favre play. I get the feeling the Rams beat the 49ers because they dont understand how tough our Defense is too. Shaun Hill looks good too. This will be all defense… and in the end, the Rams shock the “experts” and win. I love my Rams… Go Rams GO!!!
“That’s why they play the games. . .” Anything could happen, The odds don’t look good, but the ‘9ers are still wearing pants with only two leg holes, last time I looked! Come on team, get together and play together.
