Rams LB Vobora reinstated; gets 1-week roster exemption

Second-year Rams linebacker David Vobora was officially reinstated Monday following a four-game suspension for violating the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing drugs.

Vobora, who had been the team’s starting strongside linebacker, gets a one-week roster exemption. He doesn’t count against the team’s 53-man roster until Nov. 2, or the day after the Rams’ game this Sunday in Detroit.

But if the Rams determine that Vobora is ready to play against the Lions, they can lift his exemption, in which case they would have to release someone to create a spot for him on the 53-man roster.

Will he be working with the new Cardinals’ hitting coach to get back into game shape? Zing! :)

Shawn Merriman was never as good with San Diego after her was busted for using steroids, should we look for a significant drop off with Vobora as well?;0

Hey Fan in Fort Worth, Vobora was not busted for steriods. The nfl players have a list of approved supplements. Vobora has been using a supplement that the company had all approved ingredients. The only problem was that the company lied and Vobora is sueing the company. But it wasn’t steriods. So no, I don’t think it will effect him at all.

Oh, lighten up, Jav. If we’re going to get through this season, we’re going to have to learn to laugh a little. I’m sorry, but Mcgwire, Vobora on the same day? That practically writes itself. For the record, I am willing to give both of them the benefit of the doubt.

Vobora used nutritional supplements and over the phone read the ingredients to the NFL supplement hot-line prior to taking them. A sample from one of the supplements was later determined, by an independent toxicologist, to have been tainted; but, according to NFL policy the player is ultimately responsible for taking any supplement, in this case a non-steroid, banned substance. Vobora’s attorney, Mark Lillibridge, was to have filed a lawsuit against the company. (I don’t know the state of that action as of today, October 26.)

You must be in the basement if you think McGwire did not take enhancements. There is no benefit of the doubt to give. There is just sticking our heads in the sand. Many, many of these guys are taking enhancements. Some get caught & some don’t. I hope it was a tainted supplement Vobora. However, that sounds like some really good attorney spin. Can we see the litigation paperwork against the company? It would be on public record. Has anyone noticed that home runs have dropped drammatically since at least some form of testing began. Has anyone noticed that there are not as many guys putting on significant muscle mass at the age of 35 or older?
Rams SUCK. But I will love them and follow them forever. I sound like the dog under the porch in the movie “UP”. Which way did he go, which way did he go?

Of course Mcgwire took steroids but Vobora isn’t hitting homeruns with Barry Bonds or Mark Mcgwire. And for taking steriods was he that big? And yes the Rams are not that good, on offense. The defense can not live on the field and get the ball back and then have the offense do some dumb things and lose the ball once again. Alot of growing to do and it doesn’t take a couple games to get there, it takes a season or two to get what you want and need to make it happen. Selling a team doesn’t help either we need some money:)
