Rams sign long snapper Ryan Neill to replace Massey
St. Louis Post-Dispatch
The St. Louis Rams have signed long snapper Ryan Neill to replace the injuired Chris Massey as the team’s long snapper. Neill was the long snapper for the Buffalo Bills in 2007 and ‘08.
The Rams chose Neill over three other long snappers who worked out Monday at Rams Park, including Belleville East High and University of Illinois product Nathan Hodel. Massey will undergo surgery for an anterior cruciate ligament injury in his left knee next month. He suffered the injury running down a Donnie Jones punt Sunday against Indianapolis.

9-7, here we come.
I Feel bad for Massey very consistent over the years…but the rams got a motor in Neill. Kid’s an animal and will fill the role well. He was a machine when he played DE at Rutgers and was awesome in Buffalo. Easy to see why the Rams went with him. Go Rams!
9-7, here we come. Plus four playoff wins = 13-7 SB champs. The odds of that happening are as good as the odds of everyone in Kansas City giving up Natty Light, Camaros, Mullets, and double wide trailers.
Nothing to see here, a fly-over state with a team worthy only of a fly-by. Good thing Spags has been finding men of “faith.” Nothing like an antiquated superstition requirement in building a team of sheep.
Spartan, that was a good one.. “9-7, here we come.” Rams fans must maintain a sense of humor during these dark, dismal days. It’s just a guess, but were you also a Big Red fan back in the day?
Good guess. Never thought a team could be so devoid of talent it would pale in comparison to every Big Red team. But here we are. It’s not even close.
Thank god..now the season is saved!!
In Devaney We Trust, PERFECT!! Until the Rams move….I don’t think much will change. I still root for them but don’t expect much.
It’s a good thing St Louis doesn’t have an NBA team or they would be an underachieving franchise as well and probably look to move like the last one did!!!!
These comments by this array of negative and uninformed fans are embarrassing and sad. Massey is a very good snapper and will be missed.
I think he has snapped something like 870 times out of 871 with out mishap. Attention to detail can’t hurt us.
The kid they signed is to replace Massey. He is four year player who has, like Massey been pretty much a long snapper. BD did not fool around. He went out and signed a proven snapper as opposed to finishing the season with random fill ins. Nothing more nothing less.
