Rams bid farewell to S Anthony Smith
It was anything but a quiet bye weekend for safety Anthony Smith. After being waived by the St. Louis Rams at the end of the week, Smith was claimed over the weekend by Jacksonville. He was among the Jaguars’ pregame inactives in their 24-21 victory Sunday over Kansas City.
Both Jacksonville and Green Bay put in claims on Smith, but he was awarded to the Jaguars because they had a worse record than the Packers at the time of the claim.
Acquired on waivers by the Rams (from Green Bay) over Labor Day weekend, Smith never got established in St. Louis. Slowed by an achilles’ injury, Smith was an aggressive tackler who appeared in only two games, recording five tackles.
Unfortunately for Smith, his most memorable moment as a Ram came on the game-opening kickoff return Oct. 4 in San Francisco. On his first play as a Ram, Smith was called for holding, negating a 92-yard kickoff return to the 49ers’ 3 by Danny Amendola.
all he did while he was being paid by us was 5 tackles,and he cost us a touchdown,won’t be missed

The Rams secondary are probably having nightmares right now about balls sailing through the air and hitting the hands of Saint receivers for touchdown after touchdown after touchdown while the saint defense picks off every bulger pass and returns it for a TD…final score 114 - 3 after STL forfeits in the 3rd Quarter and just goes home…Personally, i hope the Rams strap on their manhood and take the wood to the saints, i just dont see how that is going to be possible
