“Stupor Bowl” starts with two penalty-marred drives

DETROIT — The “Stupor Bowl” is under way: Two penalties were called on the Lions’ opening drive; three more were called on the St. Louis Rams’ first series.
At least the Rams got some points out of theirs, assisted by a roughing-the-passer penalty on LB Julian Peterson. A 41-yard field by Josh Brown has the Rams up 3-0 with 3:57 to go in the first quarter.
