Camp Day 4 (updated): Injuries start to mount
MEQUON, Wis. — The bumps and bruises are starting to pile up, as can be expected as we get deeper into camp. First-team cornerback Fakhir Brown (shoulder) is out 2-3 weeks, free-agent rookie defensive tackle Josh Thompson (foot) is gone for at least a month, and defensive lineman Victor Adeyanju returned to St. Louis on Monday morning for surgery on a broken middle finger. He’ll miss 2-4 weeks.
Several other players are nursing assorted dings, including linebacker Chris Draft (back), safety Oshiomogho Atogwe (hamstring) and tight end Anthony Becht (hamstring). “This is where you start getting banged up a little bit, and we’ve got to make some adjustments,”coach Scott Linehan.
To make up for Brown’s absence, cornerback Cortney Grixby, an undrafted rookie from Nebraska, was signed and participated in Monday afternoon’s practice. Grixby, 5-9 and 170, originally was signed by Carolina but was released July 16. A defensive lineman, who hadn’t been identified, is due in today.

Tackle Julius Wilson also is expected to arrive today. To make room for Wilson, who didn’t get into a regular-season game as a rookie last year with the Dolphins, the Rams cut Stephen Sene, an undrafted rookie from Liberty U. In an odd, and sad, scene, it happened right on the field, just after practice began in the afternoon. Sene, in full gear, was taken away on a golf cart after getting the word from personnel chief Billy Devaney.

TE Randy McMichael is a tad wary of Lake Michigan, which lies perhaps 100 yards from Coburg Hall, where the players are housed. “I didn’t know lakes could be that big. They’ve got to have some sharks in there,” McMichael said. “OK, maybe not sharks. But there’s got to be some really big catfish that can eat you.”

Notes & quotes:
>>LBs Vince Hall and Marc Magro, both undrafted rookies, are showing potential.
>>Second-year CB Jonathan Wade looks much more comfortable and has made some impressive plays.
>>Dustin Fry, a C from Clemson drafted in the fifth round last year, is working mostly at RG.
>>Veteran FB Dan Kreider is gradually being worked in with the No. 1 offense.
>>After the morning practice, the players sang “Happy Birthday” to Ray Ogas, the team’s director of player programs. Ogas turned 60.

All for now. . . two more reports Tuesday.

How dumb are NFL players? Have any of them ever looked at a map. Of course Lake Michigan is huge. Also, catfish are extremely rare in the Great Lakes.
As a graduate of CUW, I’m glad to see the Rams there.
All for now. . . two more reports Tuesday.
ready for them
Jackson is the biggest loser in the world. Always opening his mouth about fans and crying about this and that. Just exactly showing his character by this moronic display of selfishness yet again. CUT YOUR HAIR!
