Where are you now, Marque Perry?

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Russia, that’s where. Former SLU guard Marque Perry now plays in Russia for CSK-VVS Samara (”Give me a C! Give me an S!”)  and his team has clinched a spot in the FIBA Eurocup quarterfinals. (Look around the FIBA site and you can even find a picture of Marque driving past some big guy.)

He’s not on the FIBA All-Star ballot, but apparently it’s not out of the question there for people to make it as a write-in. (Perry did it last year. There’s a pulldown list of guards who didn’t make the ballot.) I realize that my readership probably has a very low level of familiarity with European pro basketball, but if you want to cast an uninformed hometown vote for Perry, go to the FIBA Europe website and vote. It may be needed to cancel out the hometown voting the other guys get.

Tip o’ the hat to CY.
