If you’re in Atlantic City on Tuesday …

St. Louis Post-Dispatch

SLU has an open practice at Boardwalk Hall from 11:30 to 12:28. I’m sure it will just be a shootaround and the actual practice will be held behind closed doors somewhere else, but that’s their alotted time.

SLU worked at the University of Pittsburgh today and will get to Atlantic City this evening.

TT,

A little off subject but is West Pine used for the MVC teams in advance of “Arch Madness” or do they go to Wash U.

In situations like you discussed with Pitt - does SLU pay for arena time or do coaches use their connections to arrange for events like this?

Thanks for the insight!

Looking forward to the blog from Atlantic City…

I don’t know for sure if the MVC used West Pine, but I know it has been used in the past for visiting teams playing elsewhere in the area, including teams playing SLU at Scottrade. Gonzaga, for instance, worked out there when they were in town a couple years ago. As for paying for time at places like Pitt, I would think it’s probably free unless there were some specific expenses involved. Mostly it would be doing a favor for a friend. When SLU was in its first A-10 tournament in Cincinnati, the team practiced the day before its first game at Jason Grunkemeyer’s old high school.
