Just Sunday, at the volleyball final, I was talking to Chris May about basketball ticket prices …

Here’s a release from the school about deals on basketball tickets. I’ve sensed from comments on other posts that this is a concern:

The Saint Louis University department of athletics has announced that an additional number of promotional tickets, including the popular $5 Friday, $7 Sunday and $2 Tuesday offers available only at www.slubillikens.com, will be made available for purchase. The Billikens also have announced the addition of a $12 seat for all men’s basketball games, which will be available online at www.slubillikens.com and at the Chaifetz Arena ticket office. The $12 tickets will be offered for the remainder of the season while supplies last.

“Our goal is to make Billiken basketball affordable for all fans,” director of athletics Chris May said. “We want everyone to have an opportunity to experience the excitement of our first season in Chaifetz Arena. These ticket plans make that possible.”

Saint Louis plays four games that feature the lower-price offers. The Billikens host Liberty Friday, Dec. 19, at 7 p.m., then welcome Maryland-Baltimore County Tuesday, Dec. 30, at 8 p.m. The UMBC game is the second half of a doubleheader featuring the Billiken women against nationally ranked Oklahoma at 5:30 p.m.

North Carolina A&T is the opponent Friday, Jan. 2, at 7 p.m. Atlantic 10 Conference opponent Richmond visits Chaifetz Arena Sunday, Jan. 25, for a 2 p.m. tip-off.

In addition, Billiken athletics has announced a special holiday offer for local and visiting students. Any student with a valid I.D. may purchase a $10 general admission ticket for games on Dec. 17 (USC Upstate, 7 p.m.), Dec. 30 (UMBC, 8 p.m.) and Jan. 2 (North Carolina A&T, 7 p.m.). Tickets may be purchased only at the Chaifetz Arena ticket office, while supplies last.

For more information about Billiken basketball tickets, call (314) 977-4SLU (4758), go to www.slubillikens.com or visit the Chaifetz Arena ticket office.

If there are concerns about ticket prices keeping fans away then Mr May should have looked at the ridiculous nonconference schedule. Presumably we are paying money to bring these pathetic teams in. Does RM dictate the schedule? This is my 11th year as a season ticket holder and this is by far the worst non conference home schedule.
