Australia falls in semifinals of the U-19 basketball tournament

Billiken-to-be Cody Ellis had 8 points and four rebounds on 3 of 10 shooting as Australia lost to Greece 84-69 in the semifinals of the FIBA U-19 championships in Auckland, New Zealand. The Emus will now face Croatia in the third place game later today.
SLU’s other Emu, Christian Salecich, had six points and three rebounds.
Said Ellis after the game: “We just came out soft, they were all over us. They were a lot physically stronger than us tonight. We beat them in Melbourne by 20, and we just came out like we were going to win this. Even in the warm up we were soft, not talking.”
