Cody Ellis shines as Australia opens U-19 tourney with win (video link added)

SLU recruit Cody Ellis had 25 points, six rebounds, three blocked shots and got good reviews on his defense as Australia beat Canada 88-77 at the FIBA under-19 championships in New Zealand. Christian Salecich played 26 minutes and scored five points. Here’s the boxscore.
And, if you go here, there will be a box on the right with highlights of the tournament and you can select the Australia-Canada game. Salecich wears No. 7, Ellis is No. 12. If you ever a better screen than my laptop, or better eyesight than me, you might see more than I did, but about halfway through Ellis gets open in the lane, takes a pass and lays it in. The rest appears to be of other people. It’s a nice layin.
Two of three from the trey line is nice. It will be interesting to see if he has the green light next season to shoot the three.
