SLU basketball on TV 15 times (and maybe two more) (updated)
The A-10 TV basketball schedule is out, and SLU looks to be on TV 14 15 times this season. As always, you’ll find SLU on a few different places this season. KPLR will have five games, Charter will pick up the CBS College Sports regional package for five games, Fox Sports Midwest will have three games and SLU vs. Dayton is on ESPNU. And SLU vs. Charlotte is on CBS College Sports nationally. (I left this game out the first time through.) In addition, Comcast in Georgia is airing the SLU-Georgia game and FSN may be able to pick it up and Fox Sports Ohio is airing the SLU-Xavier game, though Fox Sports Midwest has some sort of a conflict that night with a Mizzou game (I think). But in any case, it’s on in Ohio if you have access to it.
The TV schedule is light early on, but once league play starts, only three of the 16 games aren’t televised.
Last year, SLU had 13 games televised.
Here’s the TV sked:
Nov. 18 Nebraska, Fox Sports Midwest
Dec. 2 Georgia (might be on Fox Sports Midwest)
Dec. 5 Southern Illinois Carbondale KPLR
Dec. 19 Missouri State KPLR
Jan. 9 Richmond Fox Sports Midwest
Jan. 17 Charlotte CBS College Sports
Jan. 20 Fordham KPLR
Jan. 30 Richmond Charter/CBS College Sports-Regional
Feb. 3 St. Bonaventure KPLR
Feb. 6 La Salle Charter/CBS College Sports - Regional
Feb. 9 St. Joseph’s Charter/CBS College Sports - Regional
Feb. 13 Dayton ESPNU
Feb. 17 Rhode Island Charter/CBS College Sports- Regional
Feb. 24 Xavier (maybe on Fox Sports Midwest, but maybe not live)
Feb. 27 Duquesne KPLR
March 3 Temple Fox Sports Midwest
March 6 Dayton Charter/CBS College Sports-Regional

I’ll be at the home games. It looks like I’ll only get to see 4 road games? Ouch!
I updated this to add the Charlotte game, which I somehow missed the first time through.
Only one of four nonconference road games will be televised, assuming the Georgia game gets picked up.
In A-10 play, there would be five of the eight road games on TV. It’s more expensive to produce a game on the road than it is at home, and it’s tougher for KPLR to air midweek night games because of other programming.
For those who can’t make the St. Ambrose exhibition game on Saturday, it looks like it’s being streamed online for free at http://www.slubillikens.com according to this game preview.

…according to an earlier schedule, the Georgia game is on Dec 2 (not 3rd)
The Georgia game is Dec. 2. My finger didn’t make the reach properly when typing.
Can’t wait. Big Rick is one heck of a recruiter, hope he stays clean!
It should be exciting!
Wow Tom, I get excited about college basketball but not THAT excited.
Why is the Cody Ellis thing taking so long?
Tom,
I think by “CBS College Sports Regional” you actually mean Comcast/Charter Sports South or CSS for short. That channel is typically not available in the St. Louis area, but it looks like Charter is making an exception in these cases for the SLU games.
Matt Sarz’ College Sports on TV is a great resource for this sort of thing:

Maybe others will have the chance to look at SLU’s line up and wonder why Majerus only fills 10 of 13 scholarships. I’m not a big fan slow turn arounds. You can’t tell me SLU can’t find 13 players capable of learning the Majerus system.
