Derrick Goold said he was going to Mizzou for capital-J journalism, but after growing up in the Time Zone Baseball Forgot he was really drawn to MU sitting between two major-league cities. Goold joined the Post-Dispatch in 2001 after working for The Times-Picayune and Rocky Mountain News, covering sports from LSU to NHL and every level of baseball in between.

derrick - the yanks have a kid from around here that has some real upside potential as a starter, started off hot then got injured. then in the yankees wealth of starting pitching, he got lost. name is darrell rasner. any chance the cards could make a move on him? what do you know about rasner?

On Rasner, I know what I’ve read and heard. He was removed from the 40-man roster a month ago, but recently re-signed with the Yankees. There’s several reports out of New York that he’ll get the chance to be a long reliever and an insurance starter for the Yankees.
