E-note from busy writer Ridley Pearson
Ridley Pearson never seems to stop writing. If I were him I’d be taking it easy in Sun Valley, but he’s just about to come back to his other home, here in St. Louis, as part of a book tour for book, “Killer View.” The St. Louis Post-Dispatch review will appear Sunday, two days before the book goes on sale. And Pearson will sign books at the Barnes & Noble in Fenton to kick off the book’s release. His appearance start at 7 p.m. Tuesday. (That store is at 721 Gravois Road. 636-326-4619)
Anyway, so I e-mailed him and asked what was going on. He replied in what seemed like mere minutes. Told you he’s always writing:
From Ridley Pearson
As I pack up to leave on book tour for “Killer View,” my latest Sun Valley suspense thriller, it is with a nervous stomach. Not over the book tour, oddly enough, but because of what follows. Six days after I come off the road from the tour, I board a plane with my family to spend a year living in Shanghai, China. I will be lecturing there at Fudan University and our two daughters will be attending Shanghai Community International School for the coming school year.
We are both excited and somewhat anxious about our coming adventure–to say the least!
“Killer View,” the new thriller, examines the rights of many versus the rights of few - how a democracy on the small and large level - can both work well and be exploited. It is a story about eco-terrorism, the great outdoors, and our individual freedoms.
This is the busiest six month period of my professional career. I published “Steel Trapp,” a book for young readers, in April; “Killer View” in July; “Kingdom Keepers 2: Disney at Dawn” will publish in August; and “Science Fair,” co-written Dave Barry, in October. I’m hard at work on a 3rd Sun Valley novel, a 2nd Steel Trapp and a fourth novel, “Peter and the Sword of Mercy,” in the Starcatchers series (with Dave Barry).
Off we go to China, to discover, to learn, to experience. Readers can follow our adventure on: shanghai-family.blogspot.com and perhaps in the pages of the Post Dispatch from time to time. Enjoy your reading, wherever your pages take you.

Ridley’s a great guy and a credit to St. Louis.
I hope… No, I know he’ll find that China is a wonderful country with the most genuinely giving people as you’ll find anywhere. I’ve had the pleasure of going there on buisness and I’ve built some relationships with a lot of fantastic people.
Hang in there Ridley.
