It’s not your imagination: Books really are published at lightning speed these days.

Technology and distribution methods allow a new “biography” of Sarah Palin to hit the market almost exactly 6 weeks after she was named John McCain’s running mate.  I put “biography” in quotes because a clip job can be done in 6 weeks, but probably not a standard, researched biography - what do you think?

A 2006 book, “Sarah” by Kaylene Johnson has also been reprinted and Palin’s speech from the Republican convention can be bought for under $3 for the Kindle.

This item on the new book, “Sarah Palin,” was reported Monday by Associated Press:

NEW YORK (AP) — Zondervan, the Christian book publisher known for releasing Rick Warren’s million-selling “The Purpose Driven Life,” is coming out with a biography of Republican vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin.
The Grand Rapids, Mich.-based company said Monday that Joe Hilley’s “Sarah Palin: A New Kind of Leader,” about Alaska’s 44-year-old governor, goes on sale Oct. 10 and will “explore themes from her career in politics, her life as a hockey mom, and her strongly held Christian faith.”
Zondervan, www.zondervan.com,  is a division of HarperCollins.
