Karl Rove’s memoir goes on sale in March
David Plouffe, President Obama’s campaign manager, is in St. Louis Friday for “The Audacity to Win.” Wonder if Karl Rove, credited with George W. Bush’s “ascendency,” will book St. Louis on a tour next year? Here’s news of his book by Publishers Weekly:
Simon & Schuster’s conservative imprint, Threshold Editions, has set a pub date of March 9, 2010, for Karl Rove’s forthcoming memoir, Courage and Consequences. Rove, who served as White House Deputy Chief of Staff under George W. Bush and is credited with masterminding Bush’s political ascendency, will discuss his life and career in politics and his longstanding friendship with Bush in the book. Mary Matalin, Threshold Editions’ editor-in-chief, said, “Karl has always been in a league of his own in the world of electoral politics and now he creates a unique genre for historians, policy makers, political junkies and serious readers.”
Rove said the book is ”a candid and behind-the-scenes view of some of history’s turbulent and momentous years” and ”a frank account of what I witnessed and my often-controversial role.”

NYT No. 1: Karl Rove’s book titled, “Courage and Consequences” should be renamed, “Even I Can Get a Moron Elected President” or “How to Destroy a Perfectly Healthy Nation in Eight Years or Less.”
