No press for Palin’s Missouri speech next month
When former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin speaks at the College of the Ozarks next month, the media are not invited.
A spokeswoman for the school says keeping the media out was part of Palin’s contract for her Dec. 2 speech.
Palin has been on a media blitz recently, promoting her book “Going Rogue” which goes on sale today. She’s done interviews with Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Walters and is making speaking appearances across the country.
Palin has made a point, repeatedly, of talking about her dislike of the media and what she believes was unfair treatment she got last year during the campaign. So it’s not a surprise that the media-types aren’t invited to her Springfield appearance.

U.S. News and World Report has a list of book tour ’strategies’ it suggests for Palin.
Publisher HarperCollins doesn’t have Missouri on its website yet. Another site, Texans for Sarah Palin, lists more cities here. It indicates that the book store providing books is a Borders in Springfield.
Media Matters, progressive site, has actually created a new project to counter the plethora of conservative books. It’s first target is “Going Rogue” at rightwingbookwatch.com. Although many conservative sites counter liberal books, I’m unaware of any conservative website devoted to liberal books. Do you know of any?
In a press release, Media Matters actually says what many book observers have felt for a long time: “Despite enormous advances in technology, books continue to serve as the primary means to legitimize political and policy ideas.”
Is this only because books actually can bring in more money than newspapers, magazines or web sites? Or is it because books maintain an aura of legitimacy, even though that may be thin. What do you think?

I ma not media. Can you blame her? Did you see what Jane the non-reader/book reviewer of the Post did to Sarah today? newsweek runs a picture meant for a running magazine? MSNBC is showing doctored photo’s of her in a bikini with a gun.. Al Gore’s Show calls her a “Gun-Ho” and a
SWILF. They eill NOT EVEN TREAT THE TERRORISTS THIS BAD.

For someone who professes to hate the media so much, Sarah Palin is doing a great job of playing it these days with her book and supposed press-free appearances. She knows darn well that she’ll get more coverage keeping the press out than she probably would if she let them in. It’s probably the smartest, savviest thing she’s done since she hit the national stage. Which, in a way, probably signals the beginning of her journey from supposed everyday mom to typical politician/celebrity.
BooooHoooo. Poor SP. The media is only making her look like the idiot she is. She should just go away and leave us alone. She brings nothing to the table to help up through this mess, just distractions. What could she talk about that hasnt already been said. Would you really drive 4 hrs down to Springfield to hear about how she was crucified by the media?? If so, Hilliary and Chelsea Clinton should be billionaires from speaking engagements. SP should come back and tell us what its like living under the scrutiny of the conservative media for 17 years like the Clinton women.
If you just want to bash Obabma, listen to Rush/Hanity/Beck and save the gas money.
She complains in her book how the McCain camp prevented her from openly engaging the press and now she purposely isolates herself from the media. This is not a serious person and is only interested in being in the spot light of the far right nut jobs. One day there will be a Sarah Palin program on the Fox noise channel. BTW, the reason why the McCain camp tried to clamp down because they were obviously concerned about her lack of knowledge and what she might randomly blurt out.
Can you blame her? Some smirky gotcha journalist might ask her what books and magazines she reads to stay informed…oooohhh the nerve! Palin thought of herself as a pitbull with lipstick until she met that slobber-fanged menacing brute Katie Couric.

The Associated Press has put 11 journalists (11!!) conducting a ‘fact-check’ on her new book (!). Has the AP EVER conducted a ‘fact-check’ on ANY other book in history?? If so, have they ever put 11 journalists on the case???
Did the AP ever conduct a ‘fact-check’ on President Obama’s two books?? Of course not; in fact, they never even bothered to interview some of the ‘questionable’ people in Obama’s past (Rezko, Ayers, Dohrn, etc.) druing the campaign.
Any serious investigation on President Obama’s worldview and history wasn’t worth their time; even the editor of TIME magazine admitted they collectively dropped the ball.
To pretend that the mainstream media doesn’t have the most glaring of biases is not to even engage reality…

The media whore is getting what she wants and hopefully continuing to sink her chances of ever being taken seriously or running for office again…not to mention her laziness in quitting a job that wasn’t even half-way done.

We know about what part of the media Palin dislikes…it’s called “The Truth”. Everytime you hear a vapid air-head humorless right-winger complain about the media, you can bet it’s because it told the truth.
What does this have to do with Obama? no one even mentioned him in the article sooooooo how does his book compare to hers….lololol
