Anyone pitching a book idea at The Big Read?
Post-Dispatch Book Editor
For a story I’m working on, I’m interested in talking to any potential authors who want to pitch their book idea Saturday, Oct. 11, at The Big Read. There will be a workshop called Pitch-a-palooza, at which writers get a minute or so to describe their book idea. The best one wins a consultation with a literary agent.
If you are planning to sign up for the Pitch-a-palooza (see www.bigread.net for more info), please e-mail me at jhenderson@post-dispatch.com. Thank you!

Figures. I’ve been to The Big Read both years. Now that I’m going to be in Baltimore at Bouchercon, they have a pitch workshop.
I noticed that you pitch to the co-authors of Putting Your Passion Into Print. Just think, I could have brought my copy of their book along and held it while I gave my pitch.
I went to the site and it was a little tough to find Pitch-A-Palooza (look under Workshops). What I discovered was that the event only lasts 90 minutes and they’re limiting registrations to 25…so, if you’re interested in pitching, you better get yourself registered NOW.
