Is Hulk Hogan your favorite wrestler?

Is Hulk Hogan on your dance card for tonight?

He’ll be at the St. Louis Public Library to sign his new memoir, “My Life Outside the Ring.” The only injury possible is a hand cramp: Hogan is scheduled to sign books for up to three hours and the library is warning fans to expect to wait in line and dress for weather - the line may trail outside. It starts at 7 p.m. (Nov. 2) at 1301 Olive Street downtown.

Hogan (born Terry Bollea) won’t be giving a talk and won’t sign memorabilia. Wrestling fans will have to buy the book to get his signature, but the memoir sounds like a juicy tell-all about his marriage problems, thoughts of suicide and steroid use.

Hogan told Time that steroids were legal when he used them and he didn’t know they were dangerous. He chides baseball officials for acting dumb in recent years about their players’ usage:

The baseball thing is a joke. This has been a problem in baseball for as long as I can remember. I’ve got a lot of these guys’ rookie cards and if you see the size of their necks and forearms compared to their size when they were first signed, it’s pretty obvious that they’ve got a problem. For some reason everyone else has been under the microscope — wrestling, football, the Olympics — and now all of a sudden the baseball industry is going, “We had no idea,” which is just insulting.

His book went on sale Tuesday, the day Hogan symbiotically announced that he was returning to wrestling via TNA (Total Nonstop Action).

For an amusing video of him, go to artsbeat.blogs.nytimes.com/2009/10/30/a-nice-polite-chat-with-hulk-hogan/. He seems to imply that the movie “The Wrestler,” staring Mickey Rourke, adopted some of his own signature style.

What do you think? Is Hogan “The Wrestler” or just the wrestler? Did you ever see him wrestle in St. Louis?

Nope..Lou Thesz..That would have been a match. Yes…against Paul Orndorff
I believe at the Arena. And may be against Ric Flair, here.

I absolutely love Hulk Hogan. I am one of those loyal, stick with you til the end kind of fans. I have been fan since I was a little girl. I grew up in a house that loved wrestling and I admit, Hulk is what did it for me. He was the ultimate good guy to root for. As a child, I of course bought into the idea that what was going on in the ring was totally real. When Hulk was “hurt”, I was feeling his pain. Now, I am 31 years old. I know all the ins and outs of what really goes on. I have to admit I don’t watch wrestling unless there’s a mention of the Hulkster. It’s just not the same anymore. It’s lost something about it that’s hard to explain. I have had the great honor to meet Hulk. He’s the nicest person you will ever meet, so kind and gracious. He is truly the Real American Hero & wrestling would not be wrestling without Hulk. Hulk will have my heart forever!!
