Downtown St. Louis to get a high school
Where workers used to book airline flights, students are about to hit the books.
(No groaning, please.)
Confluence Preparatory Academy–a charter high school–is scheduled to open Aug. 17 at 310 North 15th Street. About $7 million in renovations are underway on three floors of what used to be the TWA Reservation Center. The St. Louis Public Library owns the building now.
About 900 students will eventually attend the school, which will move downtown from 3112 Meramec Street. Confluence Prep offers advanced placement and honors courses, as well as college field trips and college immersion opportunities throughout the students’ high school years.
Begun in 2003, Confluence schools in St. Louis are run by EdisonLearning. Missouri University of Science and Technology, in Rolla, sponsors EdisonLearning’s St. Louis programs in three city locations.

This is great… please, try to find something negative to say about this, bloggers.
I am a teacher within the Hazelwood district and have done supplemental tutoring at the at the Old North St. Louis Campus of Confluence. This is a well-run organization, with respectful students who want to learn. As a Downtown resident and educator, I am looking forward to our new neighbors.
