Organizers anticipate that more than 1,000 people will show up tomorrow for a free foreclosure-prevention workshop sponsored by the HOPE NOW Alliance and others, including the Obama administration’s Making Home Affordable program.

The event is scheduled for 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. tomorrow at America’s Center downtown. More information is available here. Organizers say the workshop will provide at-risk homeowners a chance to meet with their mortgage company and someone from a HUD-certified counseling agency to work on a solution to help them stay in their home.

Sponsors include NeighborWorks® America, the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, Metro St. Louis Foreclosure Intervention Task Force and KETC. Called the Home Rescue Fair and Career Fair, the free event is part of the Urban League’s 2009 Economic Empowerment Tour.
