Ameristar opens new hotel at St. Charles casino
Ameristar Casino in St. Charles opened its 400-room luxury hotel in St. Charles today.
Workers were putting in the finishing touches Monday morning on the first 100 rooms, which will open to guests this week. Another 80 to 100 rooms will open each of the next three months. A 7,000-square-foot spa and indoor/outdoor pool are expected to open in early spring. The $265 million project also brings a 2,300-space parking garage.
It’s part of an arms race of sorts underway among local casinos. Pinnacle’s Lumiere Place opened in downtown St. Louis last month, and will include a Four Seasons hotel due to open this spring. Harrah’s Casino in Maryland Heights, across the Missouri from the Ameristar, recently launched a new $17 million buffet and other upgrades. And, besides the hotel, Ameristar just opened a new 17,500-square-foot nightclub.
