Commerce sells banks in Independence, Kan.

Commerce Bancshares Inc. has agreed to sell its locations and automated teller machines in Independence, Kan., to Community National Bank.
The banks expect to transfer the assets and deposits in the second quarter. Terms weren’t disclosed.
Community National has 22 locations in 18 communities in southeast and south Central Kansas. The Commerce locations fit well with its other branches, said Daniel L. Mildfelt, president and chief executive of Community National.
