Littler Mendelson, which calls itself the nation’s largest employment and labor law firms, has opened an office in Creve Coeur and hired Harry Wellford, formerly a partner at Thompson Coburn, as managing shareholder.

This is the 44th location for the San Francisco-based law firm, which is the nation’s 101st largest law firm based on revenue, according to the American Lawyer’s June list of the nation’s top 200 firms. It has about 700 lawyers nationwide.

He has extensive experience with issues involving employee raiding and non competition agreements, discrimination, harassment and wrongful termination claims and disputes over the misuse and stealing of properietary information and trade secrets. Other Thompson Coburn lawyers who joined the Littler Mendelson office are Stephen Smith, a former partner who specializes in labor relations matters, and Kimberly Yates, who had been an eighth year associate.

Littler Mendelson also hired Charles Reis IV, a member of the St. Louis firm Brown & James. Reis, who worked for Brown & James for 24 years, has lengthy experience in employment litigation. Brown & James associates joining Littler Mendelson are Amy Nixon, Frances Barbieri and Narcisa Przulji.
