Belden reports rise in fourth-quarter revenue, profit
Belden this morning reported a 233 percent increase in its fourth-quarter profit.
The Clayton-based maker of electronic cables reported a profit of $35.6 million, or 71 cents per share, on $585 million in revenue for the period that ended Dec. 31. A year ago, the company reported a fourth-quarter profit of $10.7 million, or 22 cents a share, on $379 million in revenue.
The increases in revenue and profit are reflective of several acquisitions made last year.
In March 2007, Belden completed the acquisition of Hirschmann Automation and Control GmbH. In April 2007, it completed the acquisition of the assets of Lumberg Automation Components, from Lumberg Group.
