Eichner will leave Enterprise Financial Services Corp.

Kevin C. Eichner, a co-founder of Enterprise Financial Services Corp., will step down as president and chief executive May 1 to become president of Ottawa University in Ottawa, Kan.

Eichner, 57,  helped start Enterprise in 1988 and has been chief executive for six years. He will continue to serve as vice chairman of Enterprise’s board and chairman of Enterprise Trust, a subsidiary. He also will provide consulting services to the company and its subsidiaries.

Peter F. Benoist, 60, currently chairman of Enterprise’s board and head of Enterprise Bank & Trust, will succeed Eichner. In addition, on that date James J. Murphy Jr. will become non-executive chairman of Enterprise’s board. Murphy is chairman and chief executive of Murphy Co., a large mechanical contracting firm in Olivette.
