St. Louis Brewery Inc., the maker of Schlafly beer, is planning to kick off its celebrations commemorating the 75th anniversary of Prohibition’s repeal with a “barrel tap and toast” at 12:01 a.m. on Monday, April 7.
The event at the Schlafly Tap Room in St. Louis also marks an effort to make beer the official beverage of Missouri. “April 7 is a day to recognize the past 75 years of beer and the beer community’s contribution to Missouri’s quality of life,” said Tom Schlafly, president of St. Louis Brewery Inc., in a statement. “The explosion of creativity and innovation by those who make beer in Missouri is an American success story.”

I REMEMBER. I WAS 7 YEARS OLD AND HELPED MY DAD MAKE BEER IN THE ATTIC OF
THE ST LOUIS 4 FAMILY FLAT WE LIVED IN. I WOULD CAP THE BEER BOTTLES AND
SAMPLE THE MALT. DAD LOVED HIS BEER AND HIS DAUGHTER FOLLOWED IN HIS
FOOTSTEPS AS DID HIS GRANDSON. HAPPY ANIVERSARY
