Scottrade will launch new options trading platform

Scottrade Inc. said it plans to launch a new trading platform for options that includes several tools that help customers evaluate risk and map strategy.
OptionsHouse of Chicago provides the technology for the new platform. Scottrade will test it with some option traders over the summer and make it more widely available in the fall.
Features include:
- A risk view that estimates market risk on a position-by-position or portfolio-wide basis
- Virtual trading, which allows traders to watch the market and test strategy to decide when to enter or exit.
- Watch lists and hot lists that traders can create to keep track of optoins or stocks of interest.
- Navigation tools that allow traders to find what they want on three tabs.
- Advanced options strategies that traders can use, including spreads, straddles, collars and others.
