Thermadyne reports 13.5 percent sales increase

Thermadyne Holdings Corp. on Wednesday reported a 13.5 percent increase in fourth-quarter sales, helping the company swing to a profit for the quarter.

The Chesterfield-based maker of metal cutting and welding products reported a profit of $4.6 million, or 34 cents a share, on $125 million in revenue for the period that ended Dec. 31. A year ago, the company recorded a fourth-quarter loss of $10.6 million, or 79 cents a share, on $110 million in sales.
