Build-A-Bear sees Q1 revenue rise, but profit drops

Build-A-Bear Workshop Inc. this morning reported a rise in first-quarter revenue, but a decline in profit.
The Overland-based retailer of stuff-it-yourself toys said it revenue for the quarter that ended March 29 increased 6 percent to $123.8 million, compared to $116.8 million in the fiscal 2007 first quarter. First quarter profit decreased to $6.4 million or $0.32 per share from $8.1 million or $0.39 per share in last year’s first quarter.
