Emerson adds new director, ups board size to 15

Harriet Green, chief executive of London-based electronics distributor Premier Farnell PLC, has been elected to Emerson’s board of directors, Ferguson-based Emerson announced Thursday. That increases the board size to 15 directors.

Emerson makes several types of products, including industrial process controls, cooling equipment, network power products, appliances and tools. The board voted this week to add a director, company spokesman Mark Polzin said.

“As Emerson continues to grow … and we anticipate some upcoming retirements (on the board), we continue to look for talented leaders,” he said.

Green, 46, has been at the helm of Premier Farnell since 2006. She previously worked in senior international jobs with Melville, N.Y.-based Arrow Electronics Inc. and as managing director of an electronic-components distributor that was part of London-based Diploma PLC.
