Isle shutters La. casino before Ike
Tim Logan
St. Louis Post-Dispatch

Isle of Capri Casinos has closed its casino in Lake Charles, La., in advance of Hurricane Ike, the Creve Coeur-based company said late Tuesday night.

The casino is located near the Texas-Louisiana line, not far from where the hurricane is expected to make landfall.

Isle closed the Lake Charles casino, as well as facilities in Biloxi and Natchez, Miss., two weeks ago during Hurricane Gustav. They suffered minimal damage and re-opened within a couple of days, said spokeswoman Jill Haynes.
