While the Missouri Public Service Commission approved a $163 million rate increase for AmerenUE on Tuesday, it wasn’t immediately clear when the new rates would take effect.

This afternoon, AmerenUE said it a SEC filing that the increase is expected to be effective March 1, assuming filing and approval of the necessary paperwork.

There’s been no indication yet if AmerenUE or any other party in the case, including the PSC staff or Office of Public Counsel, will seek to appeal Tuesday’s order.

Seeing as how Ameren cited the fluctuation in the price of fossil fuels as a culprit in the rate increase, shall we assume that those who subscribe to Pure Power won’t see a rate increase?
