Tom Carnahan’s Wind Capital Group announced it has sold the Bent Tree Wind Farm project in southern Minnesota to Wisconsin Power and Light Co., a unit of Alliant Energy Corp. Terms weren’t disclosed.

St. Louis-based Wind Capital prepared the site and WPL will construct the 400-megawatt wind farm near the Iowa-Minnesota border. The first phase of the project — 200 megawatts — is expected to be online by the end of 2010.

Wind Capital operates wind farms with 162 megawatts of capacity and is developing projects in 16 states.

This is great news…I wish wind capital the best of luck…we can’t get enough alternative energy projects in north america…it’s a proven technology in germany and other european countries…and we certainly can use the jobs building the components and erecting the structures…this kind of stimulus makes future sense…
