Peabody names former Shell executive to board

Peabody Energy Corp. named M. Frances Keeth, a former Royal Dutch Shell Plc executive vice president, as a new director, increasing the size of the board to 11.
Keeth was formerly CEO of Shell Chemicals Ltd. and would figure to play a part helping the mining giant follow through in its efforts to convert some of its vast coal reserves into more valuable fuel and chemicals. She also serves on the boards of Verizon Communications Inc. and Arrow Electronics Inc.
Keeth will stand for re-election at Peabody’s next annual meeting.
